ARTICLE IV: Fees and Dues

Annual dues per household shall be $20.00. Dues shall be waived for any member who enters the military service on full-time active duty until him or her return to active status in the club. All fees and dues shall be made payable to the name of the Club and turned over to the Treasurer. Any change in the fees and/or dues shall be published in the Club newsletter at least 30 days prior to taking effect.

ARTICLE V: Board of Directors/Officers

The administration and management of the Club is vested in the Board of Directors subject to the limitations provided in these By-Laws. The Board of Directors shall be made up of up to 9 persons, each of whom shall be a member of the Club in good standing, and shall have been a member of the Club for at least 6 months. The Board of Directors, hereinafter referred to as the Directors, shall consist of the Club Officers and up to 5 Directors-at-Large. The Director-at-Large shall be appointed by the Club Officers for a term of 1 year. Each appointment shall be made no later than March 1 of the year. The Directors will take office on April 1 of the election year and remain in office until March 31 of the following year. Any Director may be removed from office by a majority vote of the Board of Directors for failure to perform the duties of the office or for conduct detrimental to the Club. Any vacancy occurring in the Director positions during the year may be filled by a majority vote of the Board of Directors. The Club Officers shall be President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer.

    1. The duties of the Officers are:

      a. President – Presides at all meetings of the Club and Board of Directors, appoints committee chairperson, makes interim appoints as necessary, calls special meetings when necessary, designates the publishing of the newsletter and other internal/external communication.

      b. Vice-President – Performs the duties of the President in the absence of the President.

      c. Secretary – Records the minutes of all meetings, keeps membership records and maintains all Club records with the exception of the financial records.

      d. Treasurer – Collects all fees, dues and other monies due the Club, issues membership cards, publishes an annual membership roster, keeps Club financial records, gives financial report at Club meetings, pays Club expenses and signs all checks with the consent of the President.

    2. The duties of the Directors-at-Large are to serve as committee chairpersons and perform other duties as necessary to carry out the purposes of the Club. The Board of Directors shall meet at least once per year, no later than December 1, at a place designated by the President. A notice of any Directors meeting shall be provided to the Directors at least 7 days prior to the meeting. A majority of the Directors present at any Board of Directors meeting shall constitute a quorum. The Board of Director is authorized to establish such committees as necessary to accomplish the purposes of the Club.

ARTICLE VI: Elections

The election of Club Officers shall be held annually at the first general Club meeting of each new calendar year, but no later than March 1 of the year. A nominating committee shall be selected by the Board of Directors by December 31 of each year. The nominating committee shall be made up of a minimum of a chairperson and 2 members each of whom is a member of the Club in good standing and shall have been a member of the Club for at least 6 month. The function of the nominating committee is to poll the membership to generate a list of all potential candidates. The nominating committee shall present the list of candidates at the first general Club meeting of each new calendar year. Additional candidates may be nominated from the floor at the meeting. An election will be conducted during the meeting by secret ballot and will be decided by a plurality vote. The nominating committee shall tally the votes and announce the results at the end of the meeting. Officers of the Club have the right to succeed themselves.
